My name is Aaron Dabbs, and I am the President of Sales at SunPower by Sun Solar-OC.

Since having my SunPower system installed by Sun Solar in 2012, I immediately saw the financial benefits of the system as well as the professionalism associated to the company that installed it.The experience that I had with solar made me wonder why more homeowners aren’t jumping at the opportunity to take advantage of this great product, so I decided to become a part of the Sun Solar team in 2015.

My previous positions as a technician and sales representative prepared me well to be a solar educator in the solar industry. My mechanical background and understanding of how the system works is a critical resource used to educate those that are interested in learning about solar. My approach is to educate homeowners on the value of going solar, the unique differences in solar equipment and finally the importance of building trust with the contractor installing the system. My sales teams provide a solar education without “high pressure” sales tactics and then we step back and allow customers to make an educated decision on their time.

Over the past 7 years, our sales team has been able to increase sales each year by a minimum of 30%, with some years over 100%, so this is a testament to our educational and transparent approach.

Home improvement happens to be one of my many interests and installing solar has been the most gratifying and beneficial improvement on my home to this point, so I can’t wait to share this with all that are interested.

Todd Tippett

Senior Solar Educator

As seasoned solar educator and trainer, I am an integral part of SunPower by Sun Solar OC Team. The processes I use when guiding homeowners through their solar project is honest and forthcoming. Having had SunPower solar on a home myself, educating customers about available solar solutions (photovoltaic, battery storage, electric vehicle charging, home automation) using a “low-key and no-pressure” approach has afforded me success in the “solar revolution.” When away from solar, you can find me on the golf course or taking in concerts with my wife Amanda and 7 year old daughter Emrie. My family and I have recently relocated to south Orange County where they enjoy camping and beach life.

Nathan Jones

Senior Solar Educator

I’ve been in the solar energy industry since 2012. My background includes work in aerospace technology and related engineering fields. I work as a residential solar educator specializing in designing independent home energy ecosystems utilizing solar-array & energy storage systems.

All of my life I’ve always had an interest in technology and energy independence which solar-power & battery systems provide. I work with Sun Solar OC which has allowed for me to work side by side with a like-minded team to help serve my community by installing solar + battery systems for local families while helping them reach an independence from grid reliance and the high cost associated with buying electricity from the utility.

I’ve always had an interest in electric cars since they became available…,and having been involved in the solar industry for many years as soon as I could I adapted to using a fully-electric vehicle and whenever possible charge it from clean solar power. My experience has helped many of my customers transition to electric vehicles and charge up their cars with solar-power for 1/3 the cost it would with a gas vehicle.

Project Manager

My passion for solar technology dates back to high school physics class learning about photovoltaic technology to mitigate climate change. I have over 8 years of project management experience in residential construction and home improvement. I pride myself on creating relationships with our customers to show that their main interests are our top priority. At SunPower by Sun Solar OC I am responsible for leading operations, engineering, and inspection teams in successfully executing PV solar and battery backup installations and utility interconnection. I have helped to assemble a passionate team of like-minded individuals that are driven to deliver projects in a timely manner. Our vision for SunPower by Sun Solar OC is to be the most respected solar and battery backup contractor in California. In my off time, I enjoy taking my family exploring in the mountains and relaxing at the beach.

Sonya Sines

Project Coordinator

On behalf of SunPower by Sun Solar OC I would like to introduce myself, Sonya Sines, Project Coordinator. My position here is to help ensure the scheduling and the details of your solar project are organized and continue fluently throughout the entire process. Here at SunPower by Sun Solar OC we are a solar energy installation company providing high quality solar energy systems. We pride ourselves on helping our customers find ways to save and make the best decision for their homes. It’s my pleasure to be employed here and be able to help with this process. Jesus is my why, that’s who made me who I am, and He is the reason why I am here today. I want to spread his word and carry on with what I know he wants me to do. Gardening and nature are also something that I am conversant with. I enjoy participating in events geared towards environmental conservation and sustainability. The power of the Sun is beneficial to many things here on earth, and we are blessed with the opportunity to harness its power here at SunPower by Sun Solar OC.

Project Coordinator

Home improvement can be an extremely stressful time for many homeowners. I take pride in trying my very best to make this process as smooth as possible. I am a Project Coordinator at SunPower by Sun Solar OC. I started my career journey with Sun Solar in August 2022 and have not looked back since. I am thrilled to be a part of an organization whose focus is on providing committed excellence to its customers. As a project coordinator, I strive to ensure that my client’s needs are met and exceeded as the project evolves. I collaborate with all our team members to make certain that all project stages are met and are ready to move into the next stage.

I am a graduate of California State University of Fullerton, where I majored in Business Economics. I started my professional life at CSUF and then it expanded at Toughbuilt, my previous employer, and now at SunPower by Sun Solar OC. I enjoy my job and my coworkers whole-heartedly and I am excited to achieve many more career milestones with my time here.

Zack Fisher

Project Engineer

Hello – As a member of the SunPower by Sun Solar OC team for over three years I have been able to grow my knowledge of solar technology and design from the ground up. Now as an experienced Project Engineer I use my knowledge of PV systems, electrical codes, and city jurisdiction requirements to help our entire team navigate our designs and installations. As the leader of my team, I see that every project goes through the design and permitting process in an accurate and efficient manner. At SunPower by Sun Solar OC, we pride ourselves in delivering the most efficient and esthetically pleasing PV system offered on the market, and it is an absolute blast being a part of that process. As we continue to grow, I am looking forward to seeing new opportunities for current and future team members who want to join an exciting and ever-growing industry!

Mason Fisher

Jr Project Engineer

I’ve lived in Southern California my whole life. I joined SunPower by Sun Solar OC in July 2022 working with my brother Zack as a Jr. Project Engineer. As a Jr. Project Engineer my role is to make custom designed systems and to work with different jurisdictions all over Southern California for permit issuance. I was excited to work with a company that’s committed to giving their customers the highest quality and most esthetically pleasing product. This commitment inspires me to do my best work in a positive environment that doesn’t punish failure but helps me learn from it.

Juan Carlos

Project Superintendent

Hi, my name is Juan Carlos Ortiz. As a volunteer for Grid Alternatives, I discovered that the solar industry is where I wanted to be. Grid Alternatives tested my skills, advanced my “solar” critical thinking and provided hands on training. But what I liked the most was when we turned on the homeowner’s solar system and saw their joy. It was priceless.

That led me to SunPower by Sun Solar OC. The quality of SunPower and the elegance of Sun Solar OC took my skills to the next level. You can’t be a regular installer at Sun Solar, their attention to detail and craftmanship requires a thorough understanding of the SunPower solar system and challenges your skills to be a professional and true artist at your craft. Sun Solar provides a solid foundation for success.

After years of working on that solid foundation and the investment Skip Young took to train me. Doors started to open. I went from a solar installer to a lead installer. From a lead installer to an electrician. From being an electrician to installing storage systems. From installing storage systems to becoming the field superintendent.

Today as the field superintendent my role is to keep that foundation solid. To see that the projects are being installed correctly and to our standards. I oversee the training of installers, ensuring they understand the SunPower system and give them the skill needed to become successful team members.

Seeing our installers master their skills has been my joy. Working for SunPower by Sun Solar OC has been a blessing.

Cesar Sanchez

Hello, my name is Cesar Sanchez and what I enjoy most about working at SunPower by Sun Solar is the amazing group & support I feel behind me to achieve the goals I set for myself. I’ve been part of this organization going on 3 years and I can say I have learned Leadership, Humility, and Integrity. My role in the company is Senior Electrical Technician, responsible for overseeing battery backup systems and all aspects of electrical installation for solar and battery installations. Here I’ve been able to achieve SunPower and Tesla certifications through online and field training courses which have helped me grow in my career and ranks so I can provide a better life for myself and my family. I see enormous potential here and couldn’t be prouder to work here at SunPower by Sun Solar OC.

Shawn Allen

Construction Manager

Growing up with a Dad who was a General Contractor allowed me to be hands on with a variety of skills. As a young man while not at school, I was working either in construction or any paying job. I have been a hard worker and committed to craftmanship my entire life. I also have a passion for art with an eye for detail. This passion landed me in the furniture repair industry for about 18 years. However, over the 18 years, the industry changed from elegantly designed long lasting furniture to “disposable wants.” I realized then that my attention to detail wasn’t needed anymore. 6 years ago, my wife Tiffany and I felt that it was time for a change. It was then that I moved back into the construction industry.

In the process of finding a new career, I started out as a contract laborer for a concrete company, a glazer, and doing some of my own general contracting work. While at a restaurant, I was given an opportunity to join the solar industry and I jumped at the opportunity.

I began my “new” career with SunPower by Sun Solar OC as a construction rover which allowed me to use the skills I’ve learned over the past 30 years—Customer service, planning, attention to detail, demolition, framing, electrical, trouble shooting and installing. Today I am the Construction Manager and oversee all aspects of the solar design and installation.

Creating a strong community takes planning, teamwork, pride and trust in your environment. I have found that community here at SunPower by Sun Solar OC.
